Spirits Having Flown Tour

No Show em Houston no dia 30 de junho, John Travolta se junta aos Bee Gees durante a música You Should Be Dancing.

No dia 6 de agosto de 1979 a revista People faz uma matéria de 4 páginas falando sobre a turnê.

1971 AUSTRALIAN TOUR and 1972 AUSTRALIAN TOUR

 Promoters:
Ron Blackmore, Paul Dainty & David Trew

Groups:
The Bee Gees
– Barry Gibb
– Robin Gibb
– Maurice Gibb
– Geoff Bridgeford (drums)
plus 16-piece orchestra, Bill Sheppherd, musical director with Russell Morris, support

Citações:

“On the 9th of July the Bee Gees will arrive in Sydney to commence a one week tour of all capital cities. This is the first time the group as a whole has returned to Australia since they left for England 4½ years ago. Accompanying them on their tour will be ten British musicians and their musical arranger, Australian born, Bill Shepherd. It is believed that the group will be backed by a thirty-piece orchestra.”
[Go-Set 19 June 1971]

“The Bee Gees were being considered for an Australian tour by several promoters, but all but one backed out because the risk was too high. Now the Bee Gees are here they have packed every concert and brought every audience to their feet for a standing ovation! In Sydney and Canberra the crowds leapt from their seats and yelled for more. Canberrites have rarely been known to show such overwhelming enthusiasm for a visiting act of any sort. In Sydney the applause was deafening almost ten minutes after the Bee Gees had left the theatre and were on their way to their hotel! In Melbourne an extra concert was arranged to cope with the huge demand for tickets and crowd reaction was spectacular.”
[Go-Set, 24 July 1971]

“The Bee Gees 1971 tour was one of the very few Australian sellout successes.”
[Soundblast, January, 1972]

Tour 1972

“Once again the Bee Gees will be accompanied by a 16-piece orchestra – a lavish touch no other pop group touring Australia would dare to indulge in. Actually this is quite small stuff for the Bee Gees –on their US tours they usually have used 40 pieces or more!”
[Soundblast, January 1972]

“For the second time within a year the Bee Gees will play to capacity houses throughout their Australian tour. Originally it was planned that there would be only one concert in Melbourne and Brisbane but because both were sold out on the first day of bookings, promoter Paul Dainty decided to include extra concerts in both cities. An amazing effort when you consider that the Bee Gees first tour was only in July last year.”
[Go-Set, 5 February 1972]

“The Bee Gees superbly entertaining stage act was enhanced this trip by the addition of four new songs, but remained basically the same. And by basically the same, I mean once again they were brilliant! The huge crowd (at the Sydney Showground there were 20,000 according to 2SM) and so was their response. It seems that everybody loves the Bee Gees”
[Go-Set, February 12 1972]

The 1971 Melbourne Festival Hall concert was recorded and filmed (in b/w) and part of the closing number, “Spicks and Specks” can be seen in the ABC’s Long Way To The Top (2001)

Citações:

“The screamers and squealers among American teen-agers once again had something to scream about: the Bee Gees gave their first American concerts here last night.
Despite a string of No.1 records in both Britain and the United States, the Bee Gees and their manager, Robert Stigwood, deliberately try to create a demand for live concert appearances – and to increase the volume of screaming when they do appear.
The choice of Anaheim’s Convention Center for their first American concerts ( at 6 PM and 9.30 PM) was calculated. The group had had four No 1 hits in a row in Los Angeles.”

[New York Times, January 29, 1968]

“The Bee Gees are to headline their own show at the Hollywood Bowl on July 26 to start their 25 city USA tour.
The tour is to extend over seven weeks and is expected to gross a minimum of a million dollars for the group. The Bee Gees and their manager Robert Stigwood returned from Los Angeles last week with news of this tour, after two appearances at the Anaheim Convention Centre – where they grossed 70,000 dollars for their one night- and appearances on two American Network television shows.
The Bee Gees will be appearing in concert in America with an orchestra -as in their last appearance in this country, at the Saville. Said Robert Stigwood: “As  far as I know, this will be the first time in America a group will have appeared live, before an audience, with an orchestra to back them.”
The group’s next appearance in England will be on Wednesday, March 27, where they will be in concert with a 60-piece orchestra.
The Bee Gees have just returned from Scandinavia, where they played six concerts to capacity audiences. They were backed by a 25-piece orchestra. They are the first group to have three records in the Swedish Top Twenty, and also the first group to have records at numbers one and two in the German charts.”

Album:
Mythology 2010 (Andy CD)

1978 – Andy Gibb – Arrow Through the Heart (unreleased)

I just don’t understand
How love became your problem Hearts that should not cry

No words are missing, but it’s not understood
It’s time to take me back to school
So fine just as you are
I could be the life you save
I’ll be there when you need your

World of girls and boys think about the kill before you draw the bow
And cut me low
Like an Arrow through the heart, arrow through the heart, oh
arrow through the heart, arrow through the heartbreak and the pain
Never smiling in the rain

Never to be seen again, nothing makes you die ;
Like an arrow through the heart

High flying bird, you can never love nobody
But I will not lose my dream
Birds of a feather, they are never outflown
I guess the sky is beautiful
But an arrow through the heart, arrow through the heart, oh
arrow through the heart,
arrow through the heart break over you, steady hand your aim is true
Bring me to my knees again

I’m too young to die
I’m too young to die.

My silver moon!
My golden sun!

World of girls and boys, think about the kill before you draw the bow
And cut me low
Like an arrow through the heart, arrow through the heart, oh,
Arrow through the heart, arrow through the heart…

Maybe there’s a reason why we broke up.
I could dedicate my life to something new.
But I must have been asleep but then I woke up.
Working out why I was still with you.
All the things I wish I could have been.

Wouldn’t I be someone, someone.
And I would be respected.
In the prime of my life, I’ll do everything right.
I’ll begin.

Wouldn’t I be something, something.
I would get a reputation.
In the prime of my life, I’ll do everything right.
I’ll begin.

Midnight stars are shining on my shoeshine.
Telling me the things I’m gonna be.
Now the hurts all gone, I’ve pushed them all behind me.
And the world is gonna fall in love with me.

Now,
I’ve found,
that the world is round
and of course it rains everyday.

Living tomorrow,
where in the world will I be tomorrow?
How far am I able to see?
Or am I needed here?

Now,
I’ve found,
that the world is round
and of course it rains everyday

If I remember
all of the things I have done,
I’d remember
all of the times I’ve gone wrong.
Why do they keep me here?

Now,
I’ve found,
that the world is round
and of course it rains everyday.

And now,
I’ve found,
that the world is round
and of course it rains everyday.

And now,
I’ve found,
that the world is round
and of course it rains everyday.

And now,
I’ve found,
that the world is round …

 Smile an everlasting smile,
a smile can bring you near to me.
Don’t ever let me find you down,
cause that would bring a tear to me.

This world has lost its glory,
let’s start a brand new story now, my love.
Right now, there’ll be no other time
and I can show you how, my love.

Talk in everlasting words,
and dedicate them all to me.
And I will give you all my life,
I’m here if you should call to me.

You think that I don’t even mean
a single word I say.
It’s only words,
and words are all I have, to take your heart away.

Life is a moment in space.
When the dream is gone,
it’s a lonelier place.
I kiss the morning goodbye,
but down inside you know
we never know why.

The road is narrow and long
when eyes meet eyes
and the feeling is strong.
I turn away from the wall,
I stumble and fall,
but I give you it all

I am a woman in love
and I do anything
to get you into my world
and hold you within.
It’s a right I defend
over and over again.
What do I do?

With you eternally mine,
in love there is
no measure of time.
We planned it all at the start
that you and I
would live in each other’s hearts.

We may be oceans away,
you feel my love,
I hear what you say.
No truth is ever a lie.
I stumble and fall
but I give you it all.

I am a woman in love
and I do anything
to get you into my world
and hold you within.
It’s a right I defend
over and over again.
What do I do?

I am a woman in love
and I’m talking to you,
do you know how it feels?
What a woman can do?

It’s a right
that I defend over and over again.

Guilty Pleasures

 I look around and I can’t speak
I am in silence and my world is hollow
Pretending to be living there
And maybe there was something
Between us

I cannot see beyond your face
What I am searching for is someone’s shadow
And in the forest of the night
Am I unwise to let the story end?

I would not hurt you, I could never
Your dark became my night
I would not walk one step without you, ever
I would not be alive today
Without your love along the way

You try one dive
You pull out
You should understand
You’re shooting from the heart when you’re dreaming

For one moment there is someone loving me
And no one else can change that place and time
You go through the motion
But all your emotion is gone

You made me yours, I made you mine
And if I make this promise, I deliver
Beneath it all I know
That looking back, I lived on your laughter

And there were diamonds in the dust
And there were moments we could never follow
And in the morning rain
I always told you at the closing of the day

I will not leave you, I would never
Your dark becomes my light
I will not take one step without you, ever
I would not be alive today
Without your love…
Without your love along the way

 I do not need you.
Nor do I listen to the words you say.
Strongly I heed you.
But every promise seems to fade away.

Who is the clown
that walks in the steps of my shadow?
Is it the man
who does what he can but never does it right?

How can I prove?
There is no reasoning or asking why.
Only to prove.
I love you deeply with the sun in my eyes.

Who is the clown
that walks in the steps of my shadow?
Is it the man
who does what he can but never does it right?

How can I prove?
There is no reasoning or asking why.
Only to prove.
I love you deeply with the sun in my eyes.
I love you deeply with the sun in my eyes
I love you deeply with the sun in my eyes.

Say you never send me away.
Making me a memory and
telling me to find me a life
change, there’s no changing,
what cannot be changed.
And you are witness to a silent conversation.

Nothing but the black of night.
No-one ever takes your place.
Gotta let the pantomime play.
Not to worry, my telepathy.
I bring you into me ,there’s be no separation.

And I tell you
I will climb inside your world,
and at the dawn of history
I was born to find this girl (ah).

And I can see you with my eyes closed.
I can feel you when you’re near me.
Just the knowing that you
hear me, could be,
you could measure my love.

I can touch you with my hands tied (words of love).
It don’t take no extra feeling (you won’t believe).
Let your imagination, just run (take a hand).
You can measure my love.

And they tell you
they can stop those tears you cry.
And we can ride that storm together,
and all the love that lasts forever,
and forever and forever.

Cling to the vine and the vine never breaks.
It’s a message from a ship to shore.
For the soul and the sacrifice,
pain.
There’s no fury like a woman scorned.
We could be victims of a lethal combination.

It’s the hour.
It’s the sword that hides the stone.
And one of us holds the power
there to forge our hearts together,
here forever and forever.

And I can feel you with my eyes closed (words of love).
I can feel you when you’re near me (where you are).
Just the knowing that you hear me, could be, (I’ll survive),
you could measure my love.

I can touch you with my hands tied (words of love).
It don’t take no extra feeling (you won’t believe).
Let your imagination, just run (I’ll survive).
You can measure my love (my love)…

What would you think if I sang out of tune?
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your years and I’ll sing you a song
And I try not to sing out of key

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Oh, I get high with a little help from my friends
Oh, going try with a little help from my friends

What do I do when my love is away?
(Does it worry you to be alone?)
How do I feel by the end of a day?
(Are you sad because you’re on your own?)

No, I get by with a little help from my friends
No, I get high with a little help from my friends
Oh, I gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love

Would you believe in a love at first sight?
Yes, I’m certain that it happens all the time
What do you see when you turn out the light?
I can’t tell you, but I know it’s mine

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Oh, I get high with a little help from my friends
Oh, going try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody?
I just need someone to love
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Oh, I get high with a little help from my friends
Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Yes, I get by with a little help from my friends

 Yeah, yeah

You’re living your life
in somebody else’s heart.
I’m hurting so deep
as oceans are far apart.
I never let you down,
you were my world, you kept it turning.

They were good times,
and I wish you were here,
yes, I wish you were here tonight.
They were good times,
I wish you were here tonight, tomorrow.
oh yeah, oh yeah.

And so I awake in somebody else’s dream.
It’s only a lie, I’ve yet to decide who’s real, oh.
You were my universe,
you were the flame that kept on burning.

They were good times,
and I wish you were here,
yes, I wish you were here tonight.
They were good times,
I wish you were here tonight, tomorrow, oh no.

And right or wrong, oh yeah,
we were so strong together.
You were the only one I lived for,
you were the one I lived for.

They were good times,
and I wish you were here,
yes, I wish you were here.

And I’m missing you,
and I’m missing you,
and I’m missing you tonight.

You were the flame that kept on burning,
and no one knows that I can’t live without you.
They were good timeswhen we were together.
You were the love. You are all that I live for.

And I’m missing you…
